Join Our Team as a Podiatry Office Manager
Our podiatry clinic is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis, with the potential to transition into a full-time position. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for performing a variety of clinical and administrative duties, under the supervision of the Podiatrist and in collaboration with the Office Manager. The ideal candidate should have prior experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly with electronic medical records (EMR), and have a deep understanding of patient care. The candidate must also be able to travel between our Baton Rouge and Gonzales clinics.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program
- At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Must be able to travel between our Baton Rouge and Gonzales clinics
- Tech-savvy and able to adapt to new technology and software
- Pleasant to work with, with strong work ethics
Responsibilities

Assist the Podiatrist with clinical procedures and patient care

Record patient medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information

Schedule patient appointments and maintain patient records using electronic medical records (EMR)

Prepare and maintain medical supplies and equipment for clinical use

Educate patients on their podiatry care plan, including post-operative instructions

Communicate with patients and their families regarding care and treatment plans

Collaborate with the Office Manager to maintain office organization and efficiency

Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, filing, and data entry
Physical Demands
- The Medical Assistant must be able to perform tasks that involve standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. They should be able to lift up to 25 pounds and be comfortable working in a clinical environment that may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
This is a part-time position with the potential to become full-time based on performance and clinic needs. We offer a starting pay range of $17-18 per hour, with the opportunity for growth and development. Upon completion of EMR training, the candidate will be eligible for this pay range.
